American in Paris

July 19, 2007
Location: Paris, France (l'Hotel Yllel Eiffel)
Time: 10:00AM

Yesterday saw us walking around Paris in search of a bike tour that was to take me around Paris' main tourist sites. We got lost a few times before realizing, after an hour of walking, that we had missed the tour. Almost the entire day Rome was on my nerves. I didn't know what to do. It was back to anxiety and discomfort all day long. I also discovered that my camera charger was broken and I had no way of taking any pictures. Rome came up with the excuse that he only had one bar left on his battery to take pictures so he had to "conserve." I swear it's literally having a child with me. He constantly lags behind, doesn't help navigate, has no clue where we are unless I ask someone, is annoying as shit w/ his ADD blurt outs, always makes these "snapping" sounds and whistling noises out of nowhere, and is completely stingy with everything. Very, very difficult to handle and to tolerate. Something needs to change. Sometimes I actually think the is actually mentally challenged. It's not a joke.

Anyways, after we got to the end of the Champs-Elysses, there was a carnival set up. I went on this flying swing ride, like the one at Six Flags Magic Mountain. For 3 Euros and met this French girl at the drink stand. She kept smiling at me and we waved to each other. Afterwards, we picked up the French translation books that were really needed. Everything started to close after we picked up the books. It remains light out here until about 10PM. It's completely insane! We got lost on the Metro about 5 times before actually getting to the right stop. When we got out, we began walking the opposite way of the hotel before realizing that it was the other way. By this time, I was done with walking. When I got to the room, I straight PASSED OUT.

Today, I have to find another hotel, get a camera charger, eat, do laundry, and get on that bike tour with a WORKING camera. I wish I was by myself on this trip already. Things have to get worse before they can get better. Avoir.
